Understanding Workplace Ergonomics: A Guide to Pain-Free Work
In today's digital age, many of us spend over eight hours a day at a desk.
Without proper ergonomics, this leads to "Tech Neck," lower back strain, and
repetitive stress injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Understanding how to
set up your workspace is the first step toward long-term spinal health.
A few immediate changes can make a significant difference. Ensure your
monitor is at eye level so you aren't tilting your head down. Your chair
should support the natural curve of your spine, with your feet flat on the
floor and knees at a 90-degree angle. Don't forget the 20-20-20 rule: every
20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds to reduce
eye strain and remind yourself to reset your posture.
